Dacor double oven no heat, Repair – Los Gatos, CA

A customer has a problem with his unit Dacor double oven no heat. Top Oven did not heat up and was beeping nonstop. I run some test from built-in software inside Dacor appliances. Turns up that there was an issue with the control board for top oven. This unit has similar control units for the top and lower ovens.

As a solution, I offered control board replacement for top oven. So I ordered the control board and set up an appointment for part installation with the owner. Because modern appliances are packed with more an more electronics this becomes a very common issue in our field.

First of all, I turned off the power to the unit to prevent accidental electrical shocks or shorts.

Second I removed the lower door to have a good grip on the unit while uninstalling the unit. Also, I removed 4 mounting screws which attach the unit to the cabinet.

Third I brought the special dolly to uninstall the unit from the cabinet without a helper. I removed the unit from the cabinet with a help of the dolly.

Fourth I removed the top cover and to have access to internal electrical components. I took lots of pictures of the control board with wiring connectors. It is a good idea to document existing wiring positions in case if you miss or forget something. I disconnected all wiring from the old control board and replaced it with the new one.

Fifth I put the top cover, pushed the unit back to the cabinet and mounted to the cabinet with screws.

Sixth I turned on the power and test multiple cycles for both ovens.

Finally, I run self-diagnostic mode to make sure that no new error codes produced. Dacor appliances have very detailed and multifunctional self-diagnostic mode. As a result, it allows manually turn on almost all components for this double oven.

Another happy customer!
